Support Food not Bombs

Members of this group were arrested over the weekend for feeding hungry people. They will be back downtown this Sunday, despite continued threats from police and city officials.

Food Not Bombs kept busy Thursday with its members attending meetings at city hall and The Salvation Army.

The group got the word out that it will continue feeding people in downtown Herman Massey Park despite warnings from police and the mayor.

Groups wanting to use city parks for special events must apply for a permit and insurance and provide proper facilities such as bathrooms.

Food Not Bombs will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday at the park at 1010 N. Franklin St. for a picnic-style gathering and welcomes anyone who wants to eat or bring food.
